After getting his master's degree in chemical engineering and working for Kodak in Rochester, NY Paul Tuttle wasn't satisfied and wanted something of his own. Searching through many franchise companies he settled on CopyVan. CopyVan was a mobile copy vehicle servicing customers billing needs at their front door.
The vehicle cost more than their first house, but Paul was very successful in his new endeavor and quickly caught the eye of corporate which wanted to buy him out. In the meantime he had purchased a vacuum forming machine and after a long day of work building up his franchise he would spend the evenings making magnetic signs.
The magnetic signs became quite popular and started selling across the US reaching sales in almost every state. When they decided to sell the CopyVan franchise back to corporate the magnetic signs being manufactured in the basement were able to support a new company. In 1973 Paul and Janet took the money from the sale of their franchise and bought a sign company in CT. moved it back up to Manchester, NH and renamed it The Sign Gallery
Gallery's first location was on Granite Street
in Manchester, NH and the rent was $200 a month. Eventually
they grew and ended up taking over the spot next to them
and expanded to plastic, metal, vinyl and wood letters as
well as full installation. When urban renewal knocked
down the building they occupied on Granite Street in 1979
they were able to get into a building of their own on Second
Street in Manchester. The Sign Gallery would grow considerably
on Second St. attaining crane trucks and manufacturing their
own electric signs. No longer did The Sign Gallery have to sub
out electric sign or crane work.
Paul and Janet's son Jeff started working for the
company when he was 13 years old and learned every aspect of
the company including bending neon. After Paul's unfortunate
and untimely death in 2004 his son Jeff took over the helm with
his mother still doing the accounting for the company. In 2005
after selling all the land and buildings on Second Street
The Sign Gallery moved to a larger facility in Hooksett, NH
to help with the growing need for space to build larger signs.
Larger and more advanced signs created the need for more
advanced equipment such as their 6' x 12' fully computerized
CNC table and fully automated 10' hydraulic brake
and 10' x 3/8" capacity hydraulic shear with touch screen control.
Since moving to Hooksett Mediatronics, Llc was added
to The Sign Gallery family keeping electronic message centers
and digital menu board manufacturing in house.
Mediatronics offers 3 different resolutions in any size
for their message centers including billboard manufacturing
and management. Mediatronics line of
electronic menu boards make it easy for customers to change
pricing and offer no monthly or annual fees.
